Our philosophy is to provide you with a beautiful and inviting space and then let you complete it with the details of your choosing.

We believe you should decide how you want to decorate, what you want to eat, who you want to order from and what you want to have served at the bar. We welcome you to bring in any caterer of your choice, and include any other vendors you see fit.  And, like any good backyard, we don't shut down until the party is truly over. With bookings until 2:00 AM, we encourage you and your guests to make the most of this unforgettable day AND night!

What's Included:

Indoor Space

Our 9,600 square foot venue is thoughtfully designed with 30 foot ceilings, beautiful cedar accents and numerous large windows that fill the space with natural light.


The Backyard can accommodate up to 300 guests but can also be adjusted to provide an intimate space for gatherings of smaller sizes. The main floor includes separate space for the bar and the caterers. 

Upstairs has private get-ready rooms for your wedding party that are equipped with their own washrooms.  Next to the wedding party quarters, there is a spacious loft that overlooks the entire main floor, a perfect vantage point to take in all the festivities on your special day.

Outdoor Space

At nearly half an acre, our outdoor grounds are an expansive private park, fully fenced in to provide privacy and a feeling of intimacy not commonly found within the city.

 The outdoor space include a patio with custom pergola and seating area for guests to gather under.   Beautiful greenery, flowers, vines and lush lawn surrounded by trees are a bit of what you can expect in The Backyard's backyard.  The entire outdoor area is softly lit with edison style string  lights around the perimeter.

The Backyard is spacious enough to give you the flexibility to host both the ceremony and the reception either inside or outside, depending on what your heart desires and how the weather cooperates.


The Backyard comes equipped with:

  • Banquet tables and chairs for up to 300 people, set-up included.

  • Extra tables for cocktails, DJ, welcome table, and caterer/buffet use are available.

  • Built-in audio visual equipment including speakers for the ceremony & dinner, wireless microphone and a 15 foot HD laser projector and screen.

  • Available decorations include a podium, archway and Edison-style string lights.

  • You can count on perfect weather inside The Backyard thanks to state of the art heating and cooling systems.

  • Built-in bar includes customizable LED screens to display your menu or advertise your signature drink, and upright fridge and freezer.

Booking Details

Venue rental includes access to The Backyard from 8:00 AM the morning of the rental until 2:00 the following day.

Early access for set-up and additional time on the day of the event may be available subject to availability.

We provide optional layout templates for space configuration and will always have staff onsite to assist with any facility questions or issues.

There is onsite parking and an overhead door to easily transport materials in and out of the venue.

Complimentary White Wedding Bouncer (Subject to seasonal availability).

You can BYOB and BYO food.

Over the years, your own backyard has been a place to gather with friends and family, share special moments and create unforgettable memories. The Backyard has been constructed with exactly that in mind, but with space for up to 300 of your closest friends and family to join you.

  • What is the max capacity of the venue?
    Our maximum capacity is 300 persons.
  • Can we choose our own caterer?
    Yes! When you book a wedding at The Backyard, we provide the space and you control the rest. There is a private room on the main floor that includes a kitchenette and space for your caterer to set up, however there is not a full kitchen on site. Most caterers will prepare the meal at their facility and then transport the finished product for serving.
  • Can we bring in our own alcohol?
    Yes! You are responsible for obtaining your own liquor permit and supplying your own alcohol. We will supply professional bartenders!
  • Does The Backyard provide bartenders?
    Yes! In our bartending package, we will supply professional bartenders and bussers to run the bar and take car of the clean up for anything beverage related.
  • Do you charge corkage or gratuities?
    We do not charge a gratuity. If alcohol is being served, we do have a "Bartending Package" A.K.A Corkage. Included in this package are professional bartenders, bussers, mixes, garnishes, disposable cups, and ice. For more information, please submit an inquiry and our Event coordinator will be in touch.
  • Do I get access to both the indoor and outdoor space with my rental?
    Yes! The entire Backyard venue, including the indoor and outdoor space, are completely available to you during your booking.
  • Can we book extra time for decorating?
    Yes! Regular bookings include day of access to the venue from 8:00am to 2:00am the next morning. Should you wish to secure the venue prior to 8:00am on the day of your wedding, we do offer early access from 6:00pm to 10:00pm the day before for an additional charge, however this option can only be booked within six months of your event date.
  • Is there a set time that the reception has to end?
    Although we wish the party never had to end, the bar is to close at 12:30 am and the dance/DJ must conclude at 1:00 am to ensure that takedown is completed and everyone is out by 2:00 am.
  • Do all decorations have to be taken down following the reception?
    We will set up the items provided by the venue (e.g.: chairs, tables, archway). You are responsible for putting away all tables and chairs, removing all additional decorations and vacating the venue by 2:00am.
  • Are dogs allowed?
    We love dogs, and they are welcome to attend for those who wish to celebrate alongside their canine companion. That said, for this experience we find it is best to leave the pups at home so you can be fully present. The decision is ultimately up to you!
